A lot of reading at the start but once the knowledge was pickedup its was quite easy to make a real contribution

It was a really useful experience I learnt loads about real engineering that I wouldnt have learnt at university
The projects that I was given to work on were for the most part fairly dull and had no relevance to my degree course There were parts that were enjoyable as no experience will be all bad but it definitely wasnt as good as I had been hoping
The placement was a really good opportunity to see two very different aspects of Engineering The first was more designorientated the second was more managerial
The work was engaging and interesting I was given the opportunity to make a real difference to the way the engines get physically validated There are lots of other interns too so its very social
