The Role
Some tasks can be mundane as expected but the majority of stuff is interesting and other teams try and get you involved with their work too.
Everyone cares about you and for such a big company it is extremely friendly
They ask you what you want to do and what you want to get out of it. I know I can email my boss or speak to them whenever I need to and they will try to help as best they can.
It totally depends on the day. Some days I have very little to do as I am waiting for other people to get back to me and some days I have plenty. I never have too much though.
My own personal projects have given me loads of responsibility. One job includes me going to different places on my own to conduct tests which I find really great as it feels like my own piece of work.
Not so much technical detail. But just generally working in a business and understanding how they operate. Speaking with clients and writing emails have become the norm now which is helpful in any job I get in the future.
The Company
Sometimes there is very few people there so it can be a bit quiet however when there is it's absolutely fine.
They have a plan and quarterly reviews and my boss was excellent at organising relevant training before I got there so I could get stuck in straight away. Others boss' haven't been so great at though so it's just a bit of luck.
There's plenty of opportunity to go on courses and they want you to get just as much out of it as they do which is great. Other companies expect you to just do work for them with little things for you to learn.
Flexi Time
National Travel
There are a lot of people there that did a year in industry and continued working there.
The Culture
They set up a Facebook group so I was able to interact with people and found flatmates which was great as I was moving to a city where I didn't know anyone
Fairly cheap and a uni city.
Really good
Not really the only downside I the majority of people working there are above 40.
