The Role
I loved my time at Vauxhall. The people were great, the workload was manageable and the responsibility was highly motivating. Overall a great place to work and gain a wide breadth of experience and knowledge of how marketing plays a key role in an international business.
I felt like a crucial member of the team throughout my time there. Never did I feel undervalued, and my colleagues would go the extra mile for me, and I for them.
Always. Sitting next to my line manager was great as we could always discuss projects and assignments. Feedback, support, and guidance was always given.
Very. At the start the workload was less as I was settling into the role, however as I progressed and gained knowledge of how to do my day to day role, I quickly got given more and more responsibility.
A great deal. The best thing about my time at Vauxhall was the team I worked with, however there were only 3 of us in marketing. That meant I had to really pull my weight and do my part. As a result, when I was comfortable with certain aspects e.g. Excel, I would get given more responsibility in that area. Eventually I created reports and managed budgets for the Point of Sale materials across the UK.
For my degree I can already see what I learnt being transferred into theory, and vice versa. Strategy and Branding were things I gained and experience in and my time at Vauxhall has helped me with my studies so far in final year. In terms of beyond my degree, my time at Vauxhall will be invaluable. I have grown, matured and gained skills that I can take to any industry.
The Company
Warm, friendly but hard working. Good ambience with great balance of interaction with senior/similar level employees. Relaxed dress code meant that the vibe was more chilled without compromising the quality of output.
This was an area that was lacking, although this was through no fault of the team I was working in, and it didn't hinder my progress at Vauxhall.
I was supported when I applied for training. I was invited to international events, meetings, radio recordings, adverts etc. all of which I did not have to be. This was fantastic for me and my development as it exposed me to real world marketing and how concepts and events are created and delivered.

Very appealing. I would certainly return if offered a role, which is something that may be around the corner.
The Culture
Yes, there was scope to socialise and committees were set up which was great. Location wise it was a short train journey into London which was fantastic.
N/A I lived at home.
Not great. Luton is not renowned for its nightlife (or anything for that matter). HOWEVER, London is very close, and St.Albans and Harpenden are less that 25 mins on the train so the nightlife was generally very good.
Not a great deal. We took part in CSR days which were compulsory but outside of that the only real opportunity was Goodwood, which was technically a working weekend anyway.
