The Role
I enjoyed my insight quite a lot as it exposed me to another side of the fashion industry, that is a side of reporting about fashion and staying up to date with the latest trends and I feel like writing about fashion was just very interesting as I got to write about my passion.
I felt very valued by my colleagues. This is mainly because I was also submitting articles just as they were and these articles were being published so I felt as if I was making an effort to actually do good and do work for the company which was appreciated by them.
I mainly worked at home so I did not receive daily support and guidance by my supervisors. However, after each of my articles, my supervisor would review it and give me guidance on how to improve both the content and the actual quality of the writing, which was beneficial for me.
I was never too bored or too busy as I worked from home. This gave me the flexibility to write when I wanted to so that ensured that I was never too stressed out but could rather focus on my work when I wanted to and relax when I needed a break.
I was given quite a lot of responsibility during my placement as I was required to write articles and meet strict deadlines and this work was quite difficult, especially when I was feeling uninspired. However, this responsibility was good as it made me put true value on the work that I did.
By writing more about fashion, I definitely learnt a lot about changing fashion trends and I was always up-to-date which is very important in this industry. The writing skills I developed may certainly help me in the future because I may need to write similar pieces. Also, the skills will be long-standing, I feel.
The Company
I did not work in an office but I rather worked at home. This meant that it was quite chilled and relaxed when I was working as I could manage my own time. However, it did feel quite lonely and there was a real lack of communication between me and the team.
Personally, I do not feel as if the work placement was set up very well. This is mainly because I was working at home, I felt very detached from the company and felt very far away from them. I feel as though I would benefit more from working in an office alongside them.
The company invested quite little in me. This is mainly because I was not really taught how to write the articles but I was rather rushed into it. Nevertheless, I did get reviews from my supervisor regarding my articles and how to improve so that each time, I was writing better articles.

I would definitely consider working with them again in the future as fashion truly is my passion. However, I would much rather desire entering the field of fashion design as it simply appeals to me more than writing about fashion. This is still likely going to be part of a fashion design job though.
The Culture
Since I was working at home, there was not really a social scene between any of us. I would have liked there to be greater communication as it would have felt more like a team when rather it felt like I was pulling my own weight and felt quite alone in my job.
I worked from home so I did not really get to see the cost of living in the area near the main office. However, I do know there were a few bars near the main office for socialising that were actually reasonably priced for London but this was still quite expensive.
I worked from home so I did not really get to experience the nightlife in the area around the main office. However, there were definitely bars and other socialising areas there at night to attend so the nightlife was perhaps quite lively but I did not really experience this for myself.
There were a few opportunities to get involved in outside of work. Since I worked from home, social opportunities were completely off the table. However, I was invitied to some fashion conventions which were quite fun as I got to experience them first-hand and then write articles about them which was very fun.
