Overview
In essence, recruitment is all about creating mutually beneficial relationships. No day is the same at Hays so I won't go into too much detail but everyday poses it's challenges and more importantly, every day provides its rewards.
Skills
Negotiation, Software Development and tech recruitment market knowledge, consulting - providing a valuable service to clients and candidates. The skills you learn in recruitment can be used in absolutely every position in business (or other).
Responsibilities
I am treated absolutely the same as everyone else. There is nothing that other experienced recruiters do that you also won't be trusted to do - great experience
Support & Guidance
The support you receive at Hays could not be beaten. You could approach anyone in the office with questions, asking for advice and I can guarantee you will be helped. Their are a wealth of materials and training provided which genuinely make you an industry expert.
Culture
The best way to summarize this question in a few words is "Collaborative, Inclusive and encouraging to be great at what you do"
Your Impressions
I would almost have to write a thesis to include everyone about how I've enjoyed my internship. Therefore, if you're on the fence...do it.
Yes
Get involved in every way you can. Whether that's socially, taking on activities you may not be expected to do (I gave a presentation to 200 people) and don't finish your internship thinking "I could have done more"
