Overview
First day involved a group of panels introducing to Latham's core practice areas. Second and third days involved work shadowing.
Skills
For soft skills, I went on a lunch with my supervisor and three coffees with trainees. Undoubtedly improved my firm knowledge and network. For hard skills, I attended training sessions alongside trainees and learnt how to draft certain clauses. I also shopped around for work from another department which my supervisor was very happy with.
Business Insight
Panels and coffees with trainees were great. FYS fast tracks to an AC for the VS, and I spoke with a few trainees who went down that route.
Culture
Very open door - obviously people are busy, but junior talent is really well looked after. People ask you how it's been going in the elevators, everyone is very friendly.
