    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • My placement experience more than exceeded my expectatinos, immediately on arrival there was a plan set out for me from the previous undergraduate to introduce me into my role. There fore, after that handover period everything slotted into place.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • During my time I always felt valued by my colleagues even thoguh they were senior to me. I was included in all team meetings, which made mee feel even more valued.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Every fortnight I had a one to one meeting with my manager to check if I needed any help/guidance. On a daily baiss my manager would also check to make sure I had enough work to do.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There were some core taks which I had to compelte daily and monthly, such as entering the issues from the reports onto the UKIA Issues Monitoring Tool, this was done on a daily basis. At month end, It was also part of my role to log on audit timesheets repady for corporate audit in Germany.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As my confidence grew, I was given more responsibility to a variety of tasks on top of my core day to day tasks. Some of these extra tasks included, preparing a challenge day for the Internal Audit team as a group bonding excercise and doing some testing work for the audit managers.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I have acquired here are life lasting skills. Previously at university, my course had entered Internal Audit in much depth, therefore all the skills I have learnt have been on the job and through practical experience,

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office could sometimes be very quiet, however overall the atmoshpere was generally calm and relaxed giving opportunity for conversation.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very ogranised from my first day, a plan was made to introduce into my seamlessly from the the previous undergraduate.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was fortunate to be able to go on an Internal Audit training course in Lodnon, here again I was able to add to my skills such as report writing which I will look to utilise when I return to my degree. Furthermore, I was fortunate to be able to go on an Intermmediate Excel Training course while at E.ON, again here I picked up skills and tips which I can apply at E.ON or at another company in the future.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • If given the opportunity I would more than willing to continue working for a large and diverse energy company such as E.ON, I have learnt so much in my short period here and there is still plenty more to learn!

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • I did not have the opprunity to go out socially with other placement 西瓜视频s, however I was able to go out to events such as go karting, comedy club with my managers

  • I commuted from Leicester, therefore I would not be able to provide an accurate account of what costs are like in the area.

  • I did not have the opportunity to visit the nightlife in Coventry,

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Through the social club, emails were sent out on events avaliable. Such as theatre, go-karting,comedy club.
