The Role
My placement experience more than exceeded my expectatinos, immediately on arrival there was a plan set out for me from the previous undergraduate to introduce me into my role. There fore, after that handover period everything slotted into place.
During my time I always felt valued by my colleagues even thoguh they were senior to me. I was included in all team meetings, which made mee feel even more valued.
Every fortnight I had a one to one meeting with my manager to check if I needed any help/guidance. On a daily baiss my manager would also check to make sure I had enough work to do.
There were some core taks which I had to compelte daily and monthly, such as entering the issues from the reports onto the UKIA Issues Monitoring Tool, this was done on a daily basis. At month end, It was also part of my role to log on audit timesheets repady for corporate audit in Germany.
As my confidence grew, I was given more responsibility to a variety of tasks on top of my core day to day tasks. Some of these extra tasks included, preparing a challenge day for the Internal Audit team as a group bonding excercise and doing some testing work for the audit managers.
The skills I have acquired here are life lasting skills. Previously at university, my course had entered Internal Audit in much depth, therefore all the skills I have learnt have been on the job and through practical experience,
The Company
The office could sometimes be very quiet, however overall the atmoshpere was generally calm and relaxed giving opportunity for conversation.
Very ogranised from my first day, a plan was made to introduce into my seamlessly from the the previous undergraduate.
I was fortunate to be able to go on an Internal Audit training course in Lodnon, here again I was able to add to my skills such as report writing which I will look to utilise when I return to my degree. Furthermore, I was fortunate to be able to go on an Intermmediate Excel Training course while at E.ON, again here I picked up skills and tips which I can apply at E.ON or at another company in the future.
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Healthcare from home
If given the opportunity I would more than willing to continue working for a large and diverse energy company such as E.ON, I have learnt so much in my short period here and there is still plenty more to learn!
The Culture
I did not have the opprunity to go out socially with other placement 西瓜视频s, however I was able to go out to events such as go karting, comedy club with my managers
I commuted from Leicester, therefore I would not be able to provide an accurate account of what costs are like in the area.
I did not have the opportunity to visit the nightlife in Coventry,
Through the social club, emails were sent out on events avaliable. Such as theatre, go-karting,comedy club.
