The Role
I have really enjoyed working for E.ON and I will definitely be applying for the graduate scheme. The placement year has been very beneficial to me and I would recommend it to anyone.
Working at Ratcliffe Power Station has been an excellent experience. The team I work with are always willing to help and they treat me the same as everyone else in the team. I feel valued and I feel like I do make a difference at the power station.
I had a lot of support and guidance by the management team. I was always given help when it was needed and I felt the support I received was very good.
I feel that I had the right level of work. I didn't feel pressurised to rush my work but I did have enough to keep me busy. There is always something to do in this job which I have enjoyed. I believe I would get bored if the workload wasn't big enough.
I feel that I have a lot of responsibility on my placement as I have had to organise important meetings along with safety day and other events. I deal with training and many other important things which are needed at the power station.
There are lots of skills that I have developed whilst on the job and on training courses. I believe the most important skill I have developed is being safety orientated which is E.ON's rule one. Other skills I have devloped are things such as organisational skills, communicational skills and team work amongst others. I believe these skills will help me be a better candidate for graduate jobs in the future along with being more prepared for my final year at University.
The Company
The overall atmosphere in the office was very good. People were always willing to help and everyone worked well as a team and individually. People also came into the office with different queries which meant that I had to learn a lot and keep up to date with lots of different programs throughout the year
My manager was very well organised and my year at E.ON was well planned and managed.
I feel I had the relevant training for the job.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
I am definately going to apply to the graduate scheme when I leave but I haven't got a job with them as I have to apply just as anyone else would.
The Culture
Undergraduate placement 西瓜视频s were not formally introduced to each other as they were in different departments throughout the power station. However, I did get to meet them through day to day activities. However, nothing was really organised throughout the year.
Living in Nottingham was very cheap along with socialising whether it was going to the cinema, eating out or clubbing. However, I lived far away from home and it cost quite a lot if I decide to go home at the weekend.
The nightlife is excellent and if you go out on the right night it can be very cheap. Although I didn't go out much on weekdays due to work commitments.
There were quite a few social events outside of work and Nottingham has lots of other clubs and activities that would suit anyone.
