    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have really enjoyed working for E.ON and I will definitely be applying for the graduate scheme. The placement year has been very beneficial to me and I would recommend it to anyone.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Working at Ratcliffe Power Station has been an excellent experience. The team I work with are always willing to help and they treat me the same as everyone else in the team. I feel valued and I feel like I do make a difference at the power station.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had a lot of support and guidance by the management team. I was always given help when it was needed and I felt the support I received was very good.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I feel that I had the right level of work. I didn't feel pressurised to rush my work but I did have enough to keep me busy. There is always something to do in this job which I have enjoyed. I believe I would get bored if the workload wasn't big enough.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I feel that I have a lot of responsibility on my placement as I have had to organise important meetings along with safety day and other events. I deal with training and many other important things which are needed at the power station.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • There are lots of skills that I have developed whilst on the job and on training courses. I believe the most important skill I have developed is being safety orientated which is E.ON's rule one. Other skills I have devloped are things such as organisational skills, communicational skills and team work amongst others. I believe these skills will help me be a better candidate for graduate jobs in the future along with being more prepared for my final year at University.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The overall atmosphere in the office was very good. People were always willing to help and everyone worked well as a team and individually. People also came into the office with different queries which meant that I had to learn a lot and keep up to date with lots of different programs throughout the year

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • My manager was very well organised and my year at E.ON was well planned and managed.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I feel I had the relevant training for the job.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    Above 25 days holiday

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I am definately going to apply to the graduate scheme when I leave but I haven't got a job with them as I have to apply just as anyone else would.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • Undergraduate placement 西瓜视频s were not formally introduced to each other as they were in different departments throughout the power station. However, I did get to meet them through day to day activities. However, nothing was really organised throughout the year.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Living in Nottingham was very cheap along with socialising whether it was going to the cinema, eating out or clubbing. However, I lived far away from home and it cost quite a lot if I decide to go home at the weekend.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife is excellent and if you go out on the right night it can be very cheap. Although I didn't go out much on weekdays due to work commitments.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were quite a few social events outside of work and Nottingham has lots of other clubs and activities that would suit anyone.

    3/5
