    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt like I was doing meaningful work that was needed.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had all i needed but was pretty much left to get on with it, which is probably preferable.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Busy enough that there was always something to be done but I always had time to go and learn or lookup things. Certain times of the year were very busy but it depends on the particular project.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I worked on and was the project co-ordinator for some important pieces of work which was great experience.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • definately skills for life. I had little background in the area i was working in so it has been a big learning experience. Most important are the skills which I've picked up and the training courses I have been sent on.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Average/Poor. But the ability to travel to other sites was good.

    2/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • No formal organisation or plan for the placement but it fitted well around the needs of the business, and meant I could shape the placement to my own requirements.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was sent on a number of training events, some of which were the best things about my placement.
