The Role
There was a good team atmosphere. Also I got to travel to different company locations around the country which was really good - I wasn't just stuck in an office.
I felt like I was doing meaningful work that was needed.
I had all i needed but was pretty much left to get on with it, which is probably preferable.
Busy enough that there was always something to be done but I always had time to go and learn or lookup things. Certain times of the year were very busy but it depends on the particular project.
I worked on and was the project co-ordinator for some important pieces of work which was great experience.
definately skills for life. I had little background in the area i was working in so it has been a big learning experience. Most important are the skills which I've picked up and the training courses I have been sent on.
The Company
Average/Poor. But the ability to travel to other sites was good.
No formal organisation or plan for the placement but it fitted well around the needs of the business, and meant I could shape the placement to my own requirements.
I was sent on a number of training events, some of which were the best things about my placement.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Working from home
The Culture
No social scene among other placements - I think because everyones spread around the country. Went out for drinks with colleagues a couple of times.
Quite near a local uni so not bad.
On the quieter side but some good pubs.
Science/Engineering ambassador event.
