The Role
Overall I really enjoyed my placement, it had it's challenges and the odd bad day but no more so than any other job.
I felt like a valued member of the team and colleagues always took time to help me even when they were busy.
I was given support from all levels and encouraged to develop and take up opportunities.
Generally I felt I had a good workload- I had times when I was very busy and struggled to get everything done but I felt this was part and parcel of my role, and that I was doing a real job rather than being babysat. My supervisors and managers were helpful in asking if I could take on more work and making sure I was working to my potential but I could equally say if I was too busy.
The jobs I was given to do were real projects with a practical use and I was expected to keep these moving, make decisions and was trusted to make recommendations to my manager.
I feel the year has been invaluable in terms of learning about applying the theory I've learnt at uni, getting a feel for work after university, and also a chance to experience 9-5 and relocation before I take on my first permanent role.
The Company
We had a fun and friendly office- as it was open plan I sometimes found this could be distracting but it helped to create an open atmosphere and even when the team was very busy it was an enjoyable place to work.
My placement was set up well.
I was encouraged to go on various training courses, out of work activities like Kielder challenge, and also could request to go on specific courses or get more involved in areas that interested me.

Company Parties/Events
I would like to work with e.on following graduation and have an assessment centre mid august.
The Culture
I got on well with my fellow placement 西瓜视频s and there were quite a few of us at the same location but most of them went home every weekend and I wasn't able to do this as I'd relocated from further away- this meant I took a bit longer to settle in while I made friends outside of work.
I found the cost of living to be more expensive than areas I'd previously lived but I think this was partly due to socialising mainly at weekends rather than at midweek 西瓜视频 venues.
The nightlife in Nottingham was good- as said before it took me some time to get to know people in the city but there was plenty to do and the city has 2 universities so there are a lot of 西瓜视频s.
There were team events run regularly.
