The Role
It was very enjoable - a nice team and a supportive manager
I was made to feel welcome, was introduced to everyone on arrival, and was invited for lunch and evening activities with my department
My manager was great. She wasnt always around as she was based at different locations - but she was available on the phone, and I could always speak to another member of the team
Really good here. Never too much. Never too little. I had an action plan list that my manager sat down with me and we reviewed every fortnight
At times, I was so surprised how much responsibility I was given! I had to present a couple of time to very senior memebers of HR and was challenged/probed by them on why I had made certain recommendations - very nerve wracking, but grwat experience!
The placement reaffirms my interest in HR and I leanrt some good practical ways in which you can successfully launch key HR initiatives
The Company
I dont tend to socialise much out of work as my faith dictates I cant drink alcohol. However I got involved in other activities like football clubs
No issues here - everything ran smoothly
I was givent the opportunity to shadow lots of senior managers and ask plenty of questions - this has really built up my knowledge and understanding of good HR practice
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
I have been invited to fast track onto their Graduate scheme - my only nervousness is the location - but the opportunity does sound good.
The Culture
I mentioned this above
It was more expensive than where I lived in Leicester, but certainly not too expensive
Difficult to say personally - but my colleagues say it is good.
