The Role
Really enjoyable, takes a while to settle in but once you get going really good especially because of a good team atmosphere.
Really nice, had welcome lunch, various social events throughout the internship and final internship drinks as well.
Good support, especially once you learn the basics you can really ask about more and at the same time learn more. Shame it's only 9 weeks on the desk.
This varied, fairly relaxed at the beginning, started to get busier versus the 5th/6th week .
Peaked during the holiday rush, it was good to get some really exposure to the business and to feel people are relying on you.
This is the biggest point by far for me. Picked up VBA and some SQL skills and at the same time particularily towards the end really started to get into some the financial concepts and understanding the markets better from an intuitive point of view.
The Company
Depends on the team, but in general really relaxed and casual but at the same time the work gets done and you're surrounded by really intelligent people
I would probably change some of the induction sessions in particular the 'Introduction to finance' session which lasts nearly a day and you don't really get much out of it.
Definitively a lot of investment by the firm, good training sessions lunch & learns etc. Quite often senior people were involved.
Company Parties/Events
Would definitively hope to come back. Feel like I've only touched the basic 1% of the job and that there is still so much more to do and explore.
The Culture
The intern group slightly disorganised, hard to get everyone to go out together. However some good social events organised by the HR, the only comment would be to maybe move some of the evening events to Fridays.
Good considering the salary.
Nothing spectacular.
Organised some events between the interns.
