About You
I highly enjoyed the scheme as I was able to get a real understanding of the firm's collaborative and supportive culture. Since I spent two weeks in each seat I was able to get a solid understanding of the law and the type of work the firm does.
I felt very valued during my scheme as everyone took the time to thoroughly explain the tasks they were assigning me and were always available to answer my questions. Since I was given trainee tasks I felt as though my abilities were trusted and that I could make a contribution to the firm.
I was given a very high level of guidance and support as my supervisors were constantly available to answer my questions and explain concepts to me. In addition to my supervisors, the other trainees and lawyers on the team always provided me with the help I needed.
The information I learned and the skills I developed will be extremely helpful in my LLB studies as I now have an understanding of how the law works in the real world and my understanding of the areas of law which I sat in is much higher.
The Company
The scheme was very well structured. There were various talks and socials but we knew well in advance when the events were taking place so that we could organise and manage our time effectively.
Both the individuals at the firm and the other vacation scheme 西瓜视频s were extremely supportive, helpful and friendly, which made the atmosphere extremely collaborative, supportive and friendly. It was a very pleasant environment to do a scheme in.
The firm invested in my training and development as there were various workshops, which developed my soft skills as well as my legal knowledge.
Having been given weekly projects alongside daily legal trainee tasks I was able to gain a strong understanding of the type of work done and the role of a full-time employee.
My vacation scheme provided me with a real understanding of the firm's culture, which I could not have received through the firm's brochures and website. It was by doing the scheme that I could truly differentiate between firms.
The scheme was extremely valuable as it provided me with an understanding of typical lawyer tasks and the type of work that lawyers do. With this heightened understanding of the legal profession, I was able to determine whether a career in law was for me.
Everything Else
I was paid the standard rate for a Vacation Scheme in London.
Yes, there were plenty opportunities for networking and meeting other employees as we had a practice area fair and talks where we were able to meet individuals from different departments. Additionally, there were socials and dinners where we could network with employees at the firm.
The networking/social events were very well organised as we were told about the events in advance enabling us to organise and manage our time effectively.
Yes, we had various presentations about the extra-curricular activities that were available and we were able to participate if we wished to do so.
I would recommend this scheme to a friend as the scheme provides you with a very strong understanding and insight into the legal profession and enables one to assess whether such a profession is for them.
