Business Insight
While pursuing a computer science-related degree provides insight into the technical aspects, it does not place an individual at a significant advantage, as most professional work requires continuous learning and adaptability. I realised the variety of projects that may be assigned—many of which involve learning something new. Learning about different teams made it clear how I can further develop my technical skills and prepare for a software engineering role.
Culture
Everyone—from senior leaders to junior employees—was very enthusiastic and friendly. It was easy to ask questions and keep conversations flowing. There was a strong emphasis on work-life balance.
Your Impressions
This was my first insight experience, and I was initially quite nervous. However, once I met my cohort and began networking with them and the employees, I started looking forward to each day, as there was always something new planned. The talks were extremely interesting, and the teamwork activities were great fun.
Yes
Be yourself and trust the process. Do the necessary preparation, such as practicing on LeetCode or HackerRank for technical interviews. Prepare a few behavioural questions, but don’t rely on memorising them too much—it’s more appreciated if you can hold a conversation naturally. Be honest about anything you don’t know, and don’t hesitate to ask for clarification or for a question to be reworded.
