Overview
I was interning at Morgan Stanley and switching across desks. Daily work would be speaking and networking with full-time employees, helping however I could and asking questions and learning about the business. Working on my own projects or trade ideas that I would then pitch to employees and review.
Skills
I developed my time management skills, ability to work under pressure, presentation and speaking skills and networking skills. I also learnt/developed my financial understanding and ability to understand how events may shape the markets.
Responsibilities
Yes, we would provide research, updates, or news pieces to employees on relevant markets.
Support & Guidance
We were given a lot of support and guidance during the internship. We could always approach people for help and were given a mentor and a buddy.
Culture
Great culture and atmosphere. Everyone was very approachable and willing to teach and help you learn.
Your Impressions
It was an incredible learning experience and although was very tough and intense, helped develop my skills and knowledge in the financial world
Yes
Be prepared to work but that everyone is approachable and that if you need help or to reach out to someone, then do it.
