Overview
5 day insight programme with the first 3 days being a general overview of banking and the financial markets. Interactive sessions included giving you a good idea of what sector within investment banking you enjoy. Final two days of specialisation into your chosen division within the bank.
Skills
Yes, I learnt how you develop and valuate a company, pitch a stock, make a trade and understood lots of new and interesting terminology.
Business Insight
It was quite good because only after a week you realise and understand that regardless of your background or degree there is a place for you in the investment banking world.
Culture
Very good, you learn that Morgan Stanley is quite a tight knit community and smaller than the other major investment banks in terms of personnel and everybody knows each other and supports each other and I quite like that. The firm also really invests in prospective talent and really really supports them along their journey
Your Impressions
I think to say to what extent is not doing Morgan Stanley justice. I fully enjoyed the insight full stop. It was a lot of fun.
Yes
Be confident, Be yourself. The firm doesn't want the same person 100x over or they don't want someone who is just some grades. Show what and how you are and what your passionate about and you will make it far.
