Overview
Monitor market moves, news and risk reports in order to deliver any significant moves to senior management. Build excel-based models to automate the retrieval of key risks for relevant asset classes
Skills
Internship encouraged significant enhancement of my technical knowledge for financial tools used in the desks I rotated in. Developed skills related to programming and excel, as well as soft skills such as delivering presentations to senior management
Responsibilities
Yes, I was given responsibility for sending out daily emails on behalf of my team containing information about key moves to be sent to senior management. I was also responsible for presenting twice to senior management over Zoom.
Support & Guidance
I was able to have daily communication with my line manager, as well as any member of my teams in instances where I required guidance.
Culture
Supportive company culture which nurtured the development of interns. I was given opportunities to present to senior management in order to develop my skills, with support from my team, which showcases the encouragement I was offered throughout my internship.
Your Impressions
I would recommend my internship to anyone interested in enhancing their knowledge of risk management. The program is of a comprehensive nature, allowing interns to rotate across two desks, building connections across the firm, but also enabling one to make the most of their time with the firm.
