Overview
My daily tasks are to remediate any incorrect data on our systems by investigating cases and ensuring that all information regarding clients and accounts is correct. This involves using data analysis skills and excel skills to find the correct information. Further, I have extra tasks to complete such as planning team nights out.
Skills
Prior to the internship, I had very limited excel skills but I have developed these over the course of the internship, both through my daily tasks and within extra trainings. Further, my ability to follow instructions and execute tasks successfully has improved greatly and I now have more confidence in my own abilities. Finally, my interpersonal skills have improved with meeting many new people and building my network.
Responsibilities
Yes, the project I have been working on is of great importance to the firm and senior managers are very involved in the progress of the project. Other teams have also noted how useful our work has been to their ability to work.
Support & Guidance
A great amount of support and guidance has been given to me. Firstly, we have a team specifically for the interns on the internship and a main HR contact. Secondly, we have our managers who are our direct support, who regularly have one to one check-ins. Finally, we are given a buddy who we can learn more about any topic with and who are there for personal support.
Culture
The company culture is very inviting and friendly, the company genuinely wants to see people succeed and try and help you be the best version of yourself.
Your Impressions
I have enjoyed my internship a lot, I feel I have learned great transferable skills and learned a lot about myself in terms of my strengths and weaknesses. Also, I understand more where I would like my career to go and the path I wish to pursue.
Yes
Be yourself in the interview, the firm really looks for individuals they think would be a good fit for the culture. Also, be transparent about your abilities and your expectations.
