Overview
I was in the liquidity subdivision whereby I was a part of a team that created a daily liquidity report to ensure we were compliant with regulators.
Skills
Improved and learnt new soft skills (excel, presentations, proprietary software)
Responsibilities
Was responsible for the production of the daily report and also other smaller reports that complemented it. Was also allowed to partake in calls and provide input to enhance processors.
Support & Guidance
Was allowed to learn at my own pace while also receiving guidance and the ability to ask questions whenever needed. Was also assigned a buddy that guides you and teaches you the ropes at the start.
Culture
Great work-life balance compared to other IB's felt like you were a part of a team and the connections did not feel forced. Also great recreational area to meet and network with new people.
Your Impressions
Would definitely recommend the internship for anyone looking to get a greater insight into the life of a financial analyst at a bank. One of the longer ones at 13 weeks but gives you more time to learn and network.
Yes
Make sure to keep your application concise and limit the CV to 1 page as you will be in the earlier stages of your career. Would also recommend doing a couple of practice aptitude and numerical tests in order to achieve good scores in the application tests.
