Overview
We are exposed to different parts within the technology division at Morgan Stanley. It involves receiving lecture-style talks, problem-solving classes, interactive coding/trading session, and plenty of networking opportunities
Skills
I have learnt how to network in a professional environment. We also learnt some technical coding in our problem solving class. Knowing what the technology division splits into was definitely useful and new to me
Business Insight
Personally, I have learnt that I would like a more investment related role. However, I believe this is the most valuable thing about insight weeks - getting to know your preferences within finance. I met some lovely people there and the whole experience was great. There are many roles available at Morgan Stanley, and they also offer scholarships to minorities. I love the culture at Morgan Stanley and will be applying next year for the summer.
Culture
The atmosphere was most welcoming and I really like in particular their value of giving back, which resonates with me most. I love how all the professionals are giving up their time to actively invest in juniors.
Your Impressions
I most enjoyed the coding challenge which was a simulation based on trading historical data. It was really fun because you had to make bets on currency pairs, but to execute these trades, you have to code it through, so it was a lovely mix of trading and coding
