Overview
Supporting the Reg Reporting team with areas such as month and quarter end reviews, working with analysis of Leverage and Own Funds, looking after returns due to be submitted to the regulator and any additional ad-hoc tasks.
Skills
My excel skills have been massively developed this year and I have started using new platforms such as BOXI (similar to excel). My analysis skills have improved from doing things such as analysis of month on month movements. I have also developed my presentation skills from having the opportunity to present to senior management on a regular basis.
Responsibilities
I was given a huge amount of responsibility being able to work independently on many different tasks as well as being able to pick up new tasks throughout the year.
Support & Guidance
I received a huge amount of support from my manager, buddy, mentor and wider team.
Culture
The culture here has been excellent. Everyone is extremely personable and willing to help. The social side of the firm as well has made it a very enjoyable place to work.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my placement a huge amount. I was never expecting it to be anything like it was but I have massively enjoyed it.
Yes
Do research on what you will be doing, and how the firm operates. Morgan Stanley tries to differentiate itself and you should learn how. Be yourself in interviews and you will do well.
