Overview
Modelling and quantifying risk using various risk measures. Lots of statistics and programming, and a lot of meetings to plan things.
Skills
Developing my technical skills and soft skills. Large improvements in my ability to code and to talk to others in a professional manner. Also it was a good experience being in the office and working a 9-5
Responsibilities
I was given my own project so I wasn't given a huge amount of responsibility. I had the chance to code a few components of the real thing so I still felt like I was contributing
Support & Guidance
A lot, my team was in most days and my managers were very good. This depends on the team you are with, some teams are very international or WFH a lot
Culture
Good, everyone was nice and supportive. There was never any real conflicts or things of that nature. My hours in risk management were always pretty reasonable, 9-5.30 / 9-6 most days.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it a lot, I definitely want to come back.
