The Role
Department were very welcoming
Ensured I knew what I was expected to do and showed appreciation for my work
Supervisors always helped and checked in to ensure I was doing ok
Busy - I had long hours
Responsibility grew as the internship progressed and I had a better understanding of ECM
The degree I take at university has nothing to do with ECM, however I learnt a lot about the business world in general which is incredibly valuable for later life
The Company
Professional but friendly atmosphere
HR organised weekly activities for interns which allowed us to understand HSBC as a whole
Happy to invest in extra training to ensure that we had the skills for the job
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
n/a
The Culture
A good social scene but the hours were long which limited socialising
Canary wharf can be expensive, particularly for lunch
You would tend to go into central London for the nightlife
Team were keen to socialise when it was less busy
