The Role
Very enjoyable good balance of work and socialising. Quickly settled into office life and the working environment.
Felt the work I was given was contributing to the overall success of the team. Those I was working for always appreciated what I had done and were happy to explain future improvements.
Supervisor was excellent at dealing with quesitons I had over work and how to get the most out of the summer scheme. I met her for two meetings on two occations. The first occation was halfway through the placement to explain how I was getting on so far and how I can improve in the second half of the placement. The second meeting was a final de-brief explaining how overall my time at Savills went.
Was given plenty of work from the start of the placement teaching me the importance of prioritising.
Work I was undertaking involved meeting strict deadlines for the client and team so was of high importance.
Placement built on the knowledge and understanding I had aquired in my undergraduate degree whilst further showing me the importance of commercial applications within planning.
The Company
Good balance between working hard and getting to know others both inside and outside of the office.
Well organised with weekly social events after work and assessments with internship organisers halfway through placement.
Spent time explaining what was required of me and any questions I had on work given.
Company Parties/Events
Currently applying for graduate scheme and hoping to get a job with Savills to start next year.
The Culture
Social events with other interns, current graduates, and other employees within the office on a weekly basis. Provided a good way to get to know other people and how other teams within the company operate.
Working in Mayfair and living in London was always going to be expensive but worth it all the same.
Variety of bars and pubs near the office making organising social events easy.
Softball in the park was organised with current graduates. Provided a good way to get advice on what to do if called for interview and what it is like working for Savills.
